1. How appropriate is it that "feminism" is Merriam-Webster's 2017 Word of the Year? YASS.

2. Is not being able to advertise abortions a form of discrimination against women? That's what a prominent German doctor is saying - and she's gathered 150,000 signatures for a petition supporting her position.

3. In what country would eating a banana in a music video get you jailed?!?! Egypt, for one.

4. Why is the Chinese government collecting DNA from people living in one of its provinces? The government is forcibly collecting DNA samples from people living in the far-western Xinjiang province - but is refusing to say what for.

5. Is Trump's downfall inevitable? Even some of the Orange One's closest allies apparently now think so.
